Quilter's Color Quest link round-up + finished quilt

It’s all too easy to page through a pretty sewing book, without taking any action on the new ideas and inspiration it sparks. Creativity starts with action! Quilter’s Color Quest invited you to deepen your relationship with color, using my book The Quilter’s Field Guide to Color. It’s been a colorful 6-month journey!

Now, I know this year has been filled to the brim with unexpected challenges, so it’s no surprise if you didn’t actually get a chance to play along. Well friends, it’s not too late! I’m cataloging all the Quilter’s Color Quest posts here, so you can work your way through when the time is right.

Quilter’s Color Quest

I’ve finished quilting and binding my Color Quest baby quilt just in time for this finale post.

Ta da! 36” square of scrappy patchwork fabric play. I had a good time on the journey and am happy to see my blocks come together in a useful form.

Though, I totally don’t need a baby quilt, so this one is listed in my Handmades shop. I’m shipping from The Netherlands, but happy to ship worldwide. Just be in touch for a personalized shipping quote.

Calling all babies who like bright, bold, beautiful color! The backing is Anna Maria Horner fabrics from her Hindsight collection. A little quilt back was just the chance to make the most of these showy prints.

My Color Quest quilt is finished with Ribbon Swirl quilting. I wanted something festive and fun, both because it suits the quilt and because finishing this book-along is a special moment for me. I wrote a book. I got it published, launched and out there into the world. Hooray, hurrah.

I’m so glad people are actually using it!

I truly wouldn’t have done any of it without you, faithful reader. Thank you for encouraging my creativity and engaging with me in this space. I like to think the world is a little lovelier because we’ve encountered each other here.

Many blessings,

Rachel Hauser
