in the Quilting Studio, no. 47

Welcome back to my quilting studio! I took a three week break from longarm quilting in December to make time for my daughter’s visit and the holidays. In January I was busy, busy catching up and somehow it is already mid-February? Time moves on like a train. Let’s catch up on a few of the projects I have been quilting for my customers.

Campfire Glow Quilt by Aurélie

Don’t you just love this version of the Campfire Glow quilt pattern? Aurélie of @AurelQuilts made the pattern her own with alternative stars, a fancy border and one random square in square block.

I love the funky, cool vibe, which those stripes in the border really bring to life. And her quilt backing is so artful as well!

Since I added the Crop Circles quilting motif to my collection last fall, it has been chosen for a record number of quilts. Crop Circles gives a quilt a sense of movement without being fussy or dense. On Aurélie’s quilt it reminds me of Van Gogh’s Starry Night swirls. Heart.

Globe Quilt by Claudia

Did you know that Zen Chic, the fabric designer, also has a large collection of quilt patterns? They are quite popular in Europe, perhaps because designer Brigitte is German. For the second time I have had the pleasure of custom quilting a Globe quilt from the Zen Chic pattern collection.

Claudia’s quilt has a refreshing aqua and blue color scheme. How serene!

I can’t take any credit for the beautiful custom quilting design. Claudia sent me a drawing with her ideas for the globe and asked for the Citrus pattern over the quilt background. Fantastic ideas, Claudia! It was my pleasure to work them out in the cloth.

Bear Paw I Spy Quilt by Katrin

This project has a special place in my heart because the maker, Katrin @Puppilalla, is such a warm-hearted friend of mine. It was a pleasure to quilt this project, which she made for her nephew.

Tada! It’s a rainbow over-size bear paw quilt. So that’s happy color combined with I-spy fun. What more could a child want?

I got a kick myself out of investigating all the fun little surprises in the prints!

Since this quilt has a fair amount of negative space and a relatively simple design, it was a nice candidate for a showy all-over quilting pattern. This is Retro Tiles, a pattern whose interlocking circles and swoops can overwhelm a busier quilt. I like how it turned out here - a little fancy and with a nice squish factor.

I’d be happy to finish your projects with a beautiful quilting texture too. My services are available to those who live throughout the European region. Please be in touch if you have any questions or start the process off by placing your order. I can’t wait to collaborate on YOUR quilt!
