it's a success!

In my opinion Pas de Deux is my most successful longterm sew-along yet. Why do I say so?

Because so many people are still sewing it!

I am thrilled to see that the pace and design of this project is helping quilters to maintain momentum and keep on with the project. That’s the very best indication of success, in my book.

In July all those sewing-along with Pas de Deux sewed the Still Point group. It’s the most challenging patchwork piecing in Pas de Deux by far, since it uses y-seams. Ironically, more people struggled with the cutting than the sewing! I provided a LOT of pictures to illustrate all the sewing steps, but apparently not enough of the cutting. My apologies! I have since created a video to demonstrate cutting the diamonds. You’ll find the link in the August issue.

Congratulations to every quilter who has finished the Still Point group! I love seeing each and every rendition via #PasdeDeuxQuilt. Your creativity and tenacity is inspiring!

Yesterday I sent the August issue to all club members. If you didn’t receive yours, please check spam and then let me know if it is missing. I’ll be glad to help.

There are two rounds running for Pas de Deux right now: the 12-month version which began in January and the 6-month version which began in April. As of August, the two clubs diverge. Those in the 12-month Pas de Deux can use up their scraps with the Checkers group this August.

Sponsor of the Week

Winter Creek Cloth

Moda Bella Solids in 89 beautiful shades. These premium cotton solids have a lovely hand. At just $7.96 per yard, sewing with solids is one of the most economical ways to indulge your patchwork habit.

Enjoy!

Those in the 6-month Pas de Deux are served both Orange Peel group and Transparency group.

I have to admit, I’m playing favorites with Orange Peel. I so enjoyed sewing that group each time I made Pas de Deux. I think you're going to love it too! Psst - there’s likely an orange peel quilt sew-along coming this fall!

Transparency is a straightforward group that sews up easier than it looks. I use this group to introduce partial seams, and then we can really get moving with quilt assembly!

Have you been waiting for the 4th bonus quilt pattern, exclusive to Pas de Deux? That’s the Transparency pattern, for both baby size and throw size quilts. Your August issue was already packed, so I’m saving that pattern for September (or November for the 12-month club). It’ll be here before you know it.

Will there be a third round of Pas de Deux coming soon? Well folks, not for a few years! I have new projects in mind, so it will be awhile before Pas de Deux runs again. If you’d like to sew this scrappy sampler quilt, you can still join us! Choose either club, depending upon if you want to receive the final batch of instructions in September (6-month club) or in December (12-month club). Either way, you’ll receive already-published materials right away, so you can run with it at your own pace!

Do you want to switch from the 12-month club to the faster, 6-month club? No problem. Drop me an email and I’ll facilitate the switch. Easy peasy.

Happy sewing all!
