Gosh I love this quilt! She was so fun and fast to make. I tried to work mostly with softer tones, while allowing for strong contrast in the improv crosses. The combination is more spunky than sweet, more wild than cultivated and positively buzzing with island energy.
My time in Cambridge was lovely. Every day we strolled into the old town to explore shops, taste the local eateries and gaze at the stately old colleges that give Cambridge its fame. The impressions of travel sink deep and come back floating to the surface in their good time.
All about my 2 weeks in France! The pros and cons of spontaneous camping, at least from my perspective. A ton of photos showcasing the country sites and our city days. The food, the wine, and a little scoop on my new boyfriend too. Voila!
I haven’t embroidered in years, and I’m feeling quite rusty. Even just getting the project ready to begin felt like an achievement. When you are new to a craft (or way out of practice) setting things up can feel like such a chore. There are so many choices to make, with embroidery floss colors being just the start.

Each one is counted as a little finish. I think that’s why I’m able to stay engaged on such a long, winding road. I don’t really worry where it is taking me or how long we will travel this path. Each Ice Cream Soda block is its own destination.

Corsica is a French island situated in the Mediterranean Sea between France and Italy. It proved to be an absolute wonder for hiking, swimming and site-seeing. The impressions of the trip are sure to make their way into my quilts in the years to come.
