Welcome, Troll Brothers Quilt Designs!

Today I get to introduce an awesome resource for Canadian quilters - Troll Brothers Quilt Designs! Stacie, an instrumental member of the Victoria chapter of the Modern Quilt Guild since 2013, opened her quilt shop early last year on Vancouver Island. She is mom to two young men, her “trolls”, and you might follow her on Instagram as @TrollBrothersQuiltMama.

I’m really impressed by the quality, style and breath of what Stacie is offering via Troll Brothers Quilt Designs. Great fabrics for sure, but so much more. Let’s take a look.

First off, the fabrics are bright and beautiful. Troll Brothers stocks fabrics produced by FreeSpirit, Andover, Moda, Figo Fabrics and more. You’ll find designers like Giucy Gluce, Tula Pink, Rifle Paper, Ruby Star, Anna Maria Horner and Allison Glass. You can shop by Designer, Manufacturer or Collection to zero in on your favorites.

But you know, I often shop by color. I love it when a store gives me that option! I surely could fill the “medium true blue” hole in my stash, by shopping on the Blue page.

If you like to buy curated bundles, Troll Brothers offers those too and in all sorts of styles. I often buy low volume fabrics this way. It forces me to branch out and get more variety than I might do otherwise.

Fabric is not the whole story at Troll Brothers Quilt Designs. Not by far! The online shop offers a quite impressive array of bag making supplies and patterns. If you’re a “bagineer” you won’t want to miss this! There’s especially a lot of high quality notions by Merchant & Mills.

Pretty much in every category: - sewing notions, English paper piecing, quilt patterns - the store offered a wider breath than I was expecting. I came across fun quilt patterns that I haven’t seen before, for example, and loved the unique English paper piecing patterns and templates.

Oh, and I did I mention that they sell my favorite sewing machine? Yep, the Juki 2010Q! In the flesh! I’d choose this machine again in a heartbeat. It’s on backorder because demand is so high - totally worth the wait. Troll Brothers carries a full line of Juki products and machine accessories. What a great find in Canada!

The last thing I’ll mention, but certainly not the least enticing - the Anna Maria Horner Visions Club!

Anna Maria Horner's Visions sew-along features her Bright Eyes fabric collection, which celebrates the extraordinary beauty found in ordinary, everyday surroundings. Of course, the fabrics are very special! Included in the club subscription:  Visions Pattern Booklet, Paper Templates, 17+ meters Fabric. Covered Techniques:  Using Templates, Fussy Cutting, Appliqué, and Mitred Corners. Runs 5 months:  June - October 2021.

Supplies are limited, so if you’re interested, enjoy the promo video and visit Troll Brothers to learn about the subscription options.

Phew! I think that does it for now. There’s a lot to say for Troll Brothers Quilt Designs. I hope my Canadian readers will be glad to find this local resource. For the rest of us, it’s lucky they also ship international.

Thanks for partnering with Stitched in Color, Stacie!
