Quilt Sandwich Solids Challenge!

Solids Challenge.png

Who likes solids? This fun, lighthearted challenge is your ticket to free fabric, a little fame and that self-induced creative high, which is of course the very best part.

My friends at Quilt Sandwich Fabrics are sponsoring this Solids Challenge, sure to get your creativity flowing.

Have you ever sewn an all-solids projects?

Have you been wanting to give the look a go, but don’t know where to start?

Well, this is your chance!

Quilt Sandwich has created four seasonal palettes, each composed of 10 luminous colors. The bundles were inspired by the Seasons chapter of my book, and I’m perfectly delighted with the outcome of their color play!

These are Painter’s Palettes solids by Paintbrush Studio. It’s a 100% cotton fabric woven in a 62-square tight weave, which creates a lustrous solid with rich color. I used the Painter’s Palette solids to sew quilts for my girls, which are on their beds now, looking lovely wash after wash. Quilt Sandwich stocks the entire range of these high quality solid fabrics.

This are our biggest challenge bundles yet, with a grand total of 10 fat quarters, 2 1/2 yards in all.  So much potential!

Now, what would you make with your favorite seasonal bundle?  The ball's in your court!

Seriously, start thinking because it's yours for the taking.  Four participants will receive their preferred seasonal solids pack entirely free.  And then you have to make something with it, to show off to us all!

the Details

On Friday of this week I'll announce the 4 participants, our challengers.  As soon as we have your address info, Quilt Sandwich Fabrics will mail out those fabrics, likely getting them in the mail on Saturday.  Then, you must make something - anything - using all 10 solid fabrics, plus solid fabrics of your own choosing if desired.

So, you can add extra solid fabric, but you don't have to.  You do have to use all 10 solids in the seasonal pack, but you can use a little or a lot of each.  Participants can use their own buttons, trims, etc. to embellish if needed.

There's a deadline!  Really, it's a good thing, cause that means you'll enjoy this now.  You must finish sewing your project and provide photos by Thursday, October 1st.  (For that reason and due to unpredictable shipping speeds, the challenge is limited to U.S. residents.)  Participants can either share photos on their blog or on Instagram or email them to me.

the Results

We want to see what you make - you and your project will be featured here!

On October 2nd, I'll be posting about our challengers, with pictures of your project and hopefully some tidbits about your process.  Looking forward to it!  You people never fail to inspire me!

Now, all we have to do is figure out which of you 4 are destined for the Quilt Sandwich Solids Challenge. So, go ahead, convince me.  I'm so ready to hear your ideas!

p.s. Please include your email and/or Instagram account so that I have a way to contact you.
