Improv Cross blocks. Stitched in Color.jpg

Magic Number Improv (3-6 hours)

The Improv Cross block quilt is an amazing scrap quilt, utilizing scraps of literally all sizes - that is, if you know how to use magic numbers! Set yourself free by embracing this basic math. Experience how partial seams bring it all together without ever breaking a sweat.

Quilt-as-You-go (2-3 hours)

There’s no better way to use your batting scraps and fabric strips of all widths! Discover this simple approach to quilting that’s approachable for new quilters and liberating for experienced ones. Quilt-as-you-go finishing handout included.

Go Anywhere stripes square.jpg

Go Anywhere Stripes (2-3 Hours)

Follow your imagination to create a dynamic, modern block with stripes that can go any which way. This process combines improv with the structure of foundation piecing. Our blocks will finish 15" x 20", but you could use this technique to make blocks of any size - square, triangle, diamond, etc.

Scrappy Color Wheel (6 Hours)

Create a beautiful rainbow blend color wheel utilizing your smallest scraps*. Learn how to see warm vs. cool versions of each color and how to sort fabrics (even the tricky ones!). We’ll free-piece scrap wedges large enough to become the 16 spokes of our color wheel. After a primer on curved sewing, practice sewing curves. These large-scale curves are very beginner-friendly! Your 40” square color wheel makes a wonderful baby quilt or wall hanging. Wheel quilt pattern included.

*Wheel can be made from fat eighths if preferred, but more learning occurs with scraps.

The number of students per workshop and contract details are all negotiable, but I recommend a maximum of 20 students. All travel originates from Enschede, NL (closest airport is Amsterdam). For questions and pricing, please contact me.
