a nursery visit

I've been enjoying putting baby to sleep in her new room (see her slumbering on Instagram)!  I moved her crib in before Brandon even finished the quarter round trim.  I could say it's nice to be able to close the door and never disturb her naps, but really I'm more happy about the room itself.  I love the peachy wall color and sunny space.  It's my favorite place to sit and nurse her.

Putting a new room together is always such fun.  This is the view coming into her nursery.  I was wishing for a mint shelf or toy cubby system of some kind, when I realized I had this very shelf in the living room, pretty much taking up space.  Lucky me!  It's just what I wanted!  The "dream" and blue bird I picked up at a discount store on a whim, and the print is an indulgence from Land of Nod.

Last weekend I hemmed some dusty aqua velvet Ikea curtains, which set off the cream rocker and bunny lamp nicely.  From my rocker I can enjoy the dogwood trees peaking through those long, high windows or stare at the remaining big blank wall.

Well, it's easier with video.  Come take a simple tour of our nursery in process:

I've started on that wall decor!  Are you surprised it's another patchwork piece to be wrapped and stapled on a blank canvas?  I can't resist.  They're sooooo easy.

Happy weekend, friends!
