Folksy Fall: a mosaic contest

Slow down a minute, my friend, and ponder with me in color...

Once upon a time I met folksy fabric, in the way of some very Good Folks.  It was love on first sight with those free colors, those elegant lines and layers upon layers of pattern.

If I could wave a magical wand, this would be my nursery!   Something about fall, with the return of warm earthy browns and somber storm grays, reminds me how dearly I feel all the nuanced colors of rich folk art.

And the cheerful whimsy they exude.

Folksy Fall is ripples of muted rainbow worked in winding cotton.  Soft felted wool births tapestries of colorful art.  In between the lengthening nights, as the world outside grows increasingly dull, all the colors still glimmer like jewels in wise old hands.

And in young hands too, the folk arts are reborn!  Full of details, full of skill, its brilliant color tempered with ages of love.
