Maine is a gorgeous land, peppered with wild flowers, lighthouses, breathtaking shorelines and charming stacks of lobster traps.  Excepting our day trip to Monhegan Island, we spent most days paddling or sailing in the bay.  On our last two days in Maine, the sea was like glass.  Sadly, that means no sailing but it was a good opportunity for Aria and Brandon to learn to paddle board.  Good times!

I have to admit, though, that Maine summers do not agree with me.  Even though the temps were balmy, the cold winds and icy waters kept me mostly bundled up.  My appreciation for our warm, sandy southern beaches just got a huge boost!  Maybe we can squeeze in a day trip to the beach (the real beach) before summer ends...

Grateful to have been and now to be home.  Home is where I really love to be!

p.s. Most of these pictures were taken by my husband.  Don't you love that bold yellow kayak?
