twelve too many

I don't think I'd cut it on an assembly line.  I made some funny mistakes in the making of these that would make you wonder... Like cutting all my backings and battings a bit larger than the tops and quilting my first coaster as if I were going to bind it like a quilt.

Too many quilts!  I'm on auto pilot now.

But now they're finished.  All prettily quilted and edge stitched in Aurifil 12 wt, a thicker thread for a chunky finish.  I use the 12 wt in top and bobbin, on a 90/14 topstitching needle.  Works a charm for straight quilting.  So that I can sleep at night, all of the linen seams are reinforced with edge stitching.  These babies should endure!

Ta da!   Twenty-four coasters.  Hmm... do these look like re-positional quilt blocks to anyone else?  Endless hours of arranging.  Could be fun.

Well, I've decided to keep 12, so we'll be stocked in bookmarks and under-sofa clutter for years to come.  That still leaves 12 to go.  I'd like to gift the remaining sets of six to two dear readers.

We have the sweet, spring set:

And a warm and toasty fall ensemble:

I just journeyed back a few clicks to last Friday's post and thought how pleased I'd be to surprise some kind commenters with coasters, but the pesky logistics got in my way.  That and the nagging reality that not everyone wants or needs these particular coasters.

SO.

#1  Would you like these particular coasters?  Really!  Which set?

#2  Are you one of the kind souls who commented on last Friday's "when I am alone" post or otherwise have been following this blog for some time?

Because if so, I'd like to send you ALL a present... but today I have a thank-you gift for a lucky two.  I'll ask each winner to send me $2 by Paypal to make it easy for me to ship these right from my home, if that's ok with  you.  If that's not convenient, I'll find another way.  If someone across the seas wins, we'll work that out too.

Hoping you know how much I appreciate you!

xo,

Rachel

Edited to add:  Will choose two random winners on Saturday morning-ish!

Updated Saturday Morning:  I had to stop the giveaway so quickly because it's already  frustrating that I don't have 30 sets of coasters to giveaway.  I would gladly send them to any of you!

These "twelve too many" will be journeying to the homes of Lisa (comment 13) and Andrea (comment 35).

Thank-you!
