Happy Drawing

My youngest is 5.  He's an artist for sure.  Unlike his mother, who was terrified of drawing as a child, Liam loves to doodle and keeps a blank spiral sketchbook close at hand.  How I love that!   Ed Emberley's Drawing Book of Animalswas Liam's favorite Christmas gift this year, so when I saw that Ed Emberley was partnering with Cloud 9 Fabrics to put Ed's drawings on fabric, I was way excited to make something with it for Liam!

Happy Drawing by Ed Emberley for Cloud 9

The good folks at Cloud 9 sent me a selection of Happy Drawing by Ed Emberley.  Yes, I know that makes me completely spoiled.  But, look how happy he is...

Liam is an Ed Emberley fan

He waited eagerly while I snapped that first fabric glamor shot and then spread each one open to take it all in.

mama's making me...

It's spontaneous fabric appreciation, Liam-style.

getting started

Last night I started fussy cutting random squares and rectangles for my project.  I'm framing them in white and plan to scatter them haphazard across a background, kind of like those polaroid blocks.  Just what am I making?  Well, you'll have to wait and see.  I'm not at all sure how I'm going to do it, so best not to be too confident about it!

Happy Drawing is an affordable organic cotton collection slated to ship to shops anytime. Keep your eye out for it at Fabricworm and elsewhere about!
