Big triangle, little triangle

This week has been a busy one. Has yours? Luckily I’ve been able to squeeze in some time behind the sewing machine. In fact, I owe Elora some thanks for that.

Now that I have all my flying geese fabrics cut, she enjoys handing me big triangles and little triangles to feed through the machine. “Sew mama, sew” is literally what she suggests. Who am I to argue?

So, I’ve made progress on my latest version of the Geesey Geesey quilt. These soft, soothing Tilda fabrics are easy on the eyes and spirit. Plus, flying geese are so deliciously repetitive, so relaxing.

Today I set out some blocks on my design wall to see how this is coming along. Hmm… not quite what I had imagined. The “yellow” fabrics from the collection are a bit dull, not popping out like I’d expected. However, I’m enjoying the way the purples and reds mingle over that wash of soft aqua.

Wishing us all some creative time this weekend!
