Do you want to sew a windmill? Of course you do, haha! Doesn’t everyone?
Well, those in the Penny Sampler Pattern Club are finally having their chance. The Windmill block is one of those included in the September delivery. Yes, we had to be patient, but now the time is right. We’ve had lots of practice and built up our skills gradually. Let’s celebrate some of your wonderful windmills today!

Isn’t that whirly, swirly background fabric such a find? The forecast is definitely windy today. I love the intense colors in the floral building fabric as well.

This one feels light and airy. I love how the eye is drawn to the red stripe in the windmill blades and the soft contrast between the building and building window fabrics.

This graceful windmill feels a part of the sky with showy fabric choices and effective use of value set off the windmill elements. The ombre background choice adds interest without overshadowing the patchwork.

This is machine paper piecing, so it’s entirely sewn by machine. There are no hand sewn elements in this club.
If you’ve never machine paper pieced before, this is a great time to start. January includes a detailed handbook with tips for newbies and paper piecing pros alike. Plus, links to 2 of my training videos for those who have never paper pieced before.
Don’t worry - we’re starting off with the easy stuff! No need to jump into the deep end. Yes, Windmill will have to wait.
