Postage Stamp Stars progress + a Question

Woah, look at that - neutral blocks! Didn’t know I had it in me, did you?

Thanks to Fenceline Fabrics, I had enough gray scraps to fill out this batch of plaid blocks. Clockwise from top left, that’s: Puff (sold out), Wild Wings, Cosmos and Brushed. Each one adds a little sparkle to my collection!

Don’t you just love the effect? Actually the blocks won’t be used in my quilt in this way, but they could be. I do so love plaid. And, by the way, notice that these blocks combine scraps with a repetitive, unifying element - the Add it Up in Metallic Black Gold. Incorporating a bit of yardage into a scrap quilt makes visual overwhelm so much less likely.

Classic Cotton + Steel is 15% off this week! Discount will be calculated at checkout.

Cotton & Steel produces modern quilting fabric from various designers, including Rifle Paper Co. I sew with Cotton & Steel all the time!

Here is my scrappy candy! I was so curious to see how they would look surrounded in lush sorbet pink. What do you think?

I say, good enough to eat!

Next up I’ll be sewing HST blocks in the Candy Pink and Bluebell Speckled fabrics. Just before sitting down to write this post, I arranged my first batch of HST to preview the quilt top. This is one of my favorite parts of the process - the first real-life glimpse of the quilt to be!

But, there are two options here. Which one do you like best? I like them both and haven’t yet decided - - -

Option A - as shown in my original quilt mock up on Wednesday

Option B - with similar fabrics together, more like the Postage Stamp Stars group in Pas de Deux?

I’m really curious to hear what you think!

P. S. You can find all the fabrics for this quilt sold separately, scrap bundles and quilt kits too, at this Postage Stamp Stars page at Fenceline Fabrics.
