eensy teensy

First I thank you from my heart for your amazing response to my last post, "when I am alone."  I was nervous to release so much raw emotion in this space, but the experience of writing that and receiving your comments was incredibly therapeutic.  Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you.  I feel I have permission to truly hope with a positive attitude and to allow myself to really rest.  As Luann said, "to hope is to wait expectantly with anticipation."  I'm going to do just that.

Meanwhile, here's something I stitched up last week.  These eensy teensy half square triangle blocks will finish just 1.5" square.  They're part of my Delectable Mountains bee blocks for Love circle of do. Good Stitches (tutorial here).

my May blocks

Happily, all the fabrics for these spicey blocks were sourced from my scrap bins.  That's my favorite way to sew!  I'm still working on that humongous diamond chevron quilt.  When it's done, another scrap quilt would be nice.

The finished blocks can be arranged like so - half square triangle fanciness and somewhat mountainous.

I think they'd also look really cool like this.  The half square triangles come together to make flying geese, all pointing to center.  See?  What if one half of the flying geese were a slightly different color?  Hmm.

Don't you love how quilting carries such endless possibility?
