my new Makeup Roll (and pattern!)

Hey, look what I made!

my new Makeup Roll (and pattern!)

Yep, it's a new makeup roll for Moi!  I've married some old favorite fabrics from Anna Maria Horner with Chicopee by Denyse Schmidt.  Isn't it happy!  Love. love.

Denyse + Anna Maria

It has indeed been years since I made my first makeup roll, and that baby had been hard used.  I wanted to freshen things up while working out some pattern improvements. I'm excited to bring you the updated, streamlined pattern just in time for holiday gift making!

So, what's changed?  Well, the biggest improvement is that all pockets are now lined.  While not strictly necessary, lining makes for sturdier, longer-wearing pockets.  And, guess what?  It doesn't even take longer!  Nope, not a bit longer.  Actually, this new way of assembling the pockets is faster.  What's not to love about that?

I've also streamlined the finishing process to make for a tidier finish.  All this while shortening the overall page count by 2 whole pages.  I do count this a victory!

Well, I hope that this solves that what-to-make delimna for some patchwork-loving gift-giver.  I've made so many rolls by now, as gifts for friends and family.  Everyone loves something both practical and pretty, for travel and for home.

Or, you know, you can just make one for yourself.  Here's to adding patchwork goodness to your morning routine!

The improved Makeup Roll Pattern is now available at my shop.  Enjoy!

P.S.  If you've previously bought this pattern, I'd be happy to send you the updated version.  Please provide your payment email address and I'll see if I can track down your order to confirm.  Or, you can also provide me with a photo of your finished roll as proof of purchase.  I'm sure you'll love the updates!
