Quilting with Curves - book hop + giveaway

Happy Saturday, friends. I’m popping in on the weekend because today is my stop in a blog hop to introduce Daisy Aschehoug’s new book to the world. I am super glad to participate, not only because Daisy is a real friend, but also because the book fills a gap that deserves attention.

If you are a fan of modern quilts with a clean, dramatic style, Quilting with Curves is for you. Yes, even if you haven’t sewn curves yet, that’s no reason not to go for it. What is the worst that can happen? Sure, along the way it might get bumpy (literally, haha), but you will surely learn under Daisy’s experienced guidance. Those smooth curves will be worth the challenge!

Quilting with Curves begins with 21 pages of advice and techinical lessons for curved patchwork piecing. Next comes the quilts, and there are a LOT of them. Twenty projects in all! So that’s a great value, especially because Daisy has a clear artistic voice and style. If you like one of her quilts, you’ll like them all and be glad to have this library of future experiences to sew.

With 20 projects in all, it was hard to play favorites, but I did manage to narrow it down to a few I’ll share with you. If you look closely you might notice the Nordic influences in these shots. Daisy moved her family from the United States to Norway two years before I began my European adventure. Her advice during our move was priceless. Memorable tip - bring all your English language children’s books!
