March in Quilter's Color Quest

This month in Quilter’s Color Quest we’re enjoying chapters one and two in The Quilter’s Field Guide to Color: A Hands-on Workbook for Mastering Fabric Selection. I’ve already shared my exercises for Temperature and Seasons. Let’s take a moment to see what you’ve been up to!

Follow #QuiltersColorQuest on Instagram to enjoy a wealth of examples of the exercises from the book worked out in color and cloth.

for the Temperature Challenge - - - pg. 21

Amy Friend of During Quiet Time started us off during the book hop. She combined two warm colors into one delightfully perky block.

And here are examples of warm and cool blocks in shades of green and purple, made by the community:

for the Seasons Challenge - - - pg 28-29

Jo Avery @JoAveryStitch started us off during the book hop with a gloriously springy block!

Balance Your Stash

Each month during Quilter’s Color Quest, I will create a custom bundle with one of my fantastic sponsor shops. Here’s the idea - as you get to know color better, you often realize that your stash could use some balancing. Do you enjoy my eye for color or fabrics? Cool! Then, these bundles are a convenient and highly targeted way of filling those holes in your stash.

Aaaaaand, each month the 16-piece, fat quarter custom bundle also serves as the prize for one lucky participant in Quilter’s Color Quest. Each photo you post to Instagram with #QuiltersColorQuest enters you to win the monthly giveaway. So, go out there and do the work! There are lots of good reasons to enjoy this process together.

For March I’ve divided the 16-piece prize into two separate bundles, each available now at Fenceline Fabrics. The winner will get both the warm and cool bundles. Dividing them out allows you flexibility in your shopping. Here goes:

Warm Sunrise

The Warm Bundle

Cool Woodland

The Cool Bundle

There are so many good choices for warm and cool colors at Fenceline Fabrics, that I ended up developing a theme for each to help me narrow the focus.  I hope you like them! Our lucky winner will be chosen at random on April 1st. I will use Instagram messaging to be in touch to organize shipping of the prize.

Thanks for supporting my sponsor, Fenceline Fabrics!
