loose ends

Do you ever find yourself going in so many directions that you're not at all sure which way you are going... at that very moment?  Which way is up?  Which way down?

I have a lot on my plate lately, and the answer is not to let things go.  It's to be head down and hard work around here for awhile yet.  I don't mind hard work, oftentimes it's quite rewarding.  But, I do like to lie down at the end of the day and know I've worked on the right things.  Which is tricky when you're going in so many different directions.

Fridays are my only dedicated work day as my mother keeps my children.  So today I am focusing on tying up loose ends.  Quilting some pillow backs so I can finish those pillows. Binding another special project.  Prewashing that canvas so it'll be ready to sew on Monday.

I have a production calendar, you see, for my new class.  That's one way I try to provide myself structure so I know what I should be working on when... and when I've done enough!  The canvas is needed for next week's project.  I've been in production mode for over a month now, so the finished projects are starting to amass.  It's exciting to see ideas in the cloth!  But this week I felt like I was spinning my wheels more than anything.  Hopefully by tidying up the works in progress, I can start fresh next week and make better headway.

Yesterday I did finishmy Rainbow Picnic Quilt so it's ready for Monday's sew-along Finishing post.  And this weekend maybe I'll finish my Lake Cabin pattern.  Maybe.  We'll see what fits in with our weekend plans!

Before we head into the weekend, I have another loose end to tie.  I'm to choose another winner from among those participating in 30 Days of Fabric Stacks.  A random draw of all those photos submitted with the event's hashtag....awards a $30 gift certificate for Bobbie Lou's Fabric Factory to Heartsongz for her Novelty Stack.  Congratulations!  I'll be in touch to deliver your prize.

You have a chance to win every Friday for the next few weeks with each challenge photo!  In order to be eligible for prizes, follow StitchedinColor, CharmAboutYou and BobbieLouFabric on Instagram.  Next week the lucky winner will get to choose a favorite fat quarter stack from the 30 Days of Fabric Stack bundles being created by Chelsea of Bobbie Lou:

Happy Friday all!
