Welcome, The Red Hen Shop!
Melody is a longtime reader and even longer-time quilter. She inherited the quilting gene from her grandmother, who handstitched Grandmother's Flower Garden quilts for her many grandchildren, including childhood clothing. What a special memory!
Today I'm glad to be introducing Melody's fabric store, The Red Hen Shop. It is a brick and mortar shop in Richland, Iowa and an Etsy shop too. You'll find it stocked with yardage from Moda, Bernetex, Quilting Treasures, Windham and more.
The Red Hen Shop abounds in soft florals, classic stripes and plaids, dots, holiday prints and playful novelties. Most are sold by the half yard at $4 to $5 a yard, very competitive prices for generous cuts.
Melody cuts a "true yard" that's actually 37-38" long to allow room to straighten the grain and still have a full yard to work with. Her half yard and fat quarters are generous too. In fact, a fat quarter is 20" x 22" at The Red Hen Shop, so you can cut layer cake pieces, charm squares. 2.5 inch strips, etc. very efficiently. Plus, she is happy to send samples swatches for free!
I'm thankful to welcome The Red Hen Shop to Stitched in Color, and Melody is grateful you've taken the time to read a little about her shop. To express her thanks, please enter to win this 10-piece fat quarter set. Just add your comment now through noon on Saturday, eastern time. We'd love to hear if your quilting hobby was inspired by a quilting heritage! Giveaway is open internationally.
