Stitched in Color

on the subject of BABIES!

This is it.  Our BIG weekend!   My husband is going in for a surgery that should make pregnancy possible for us again.  It has a high rate of success, but I'm definitely anxious about the outcome.  This is our one chance.  And, well, you could say that I have my hopes up...

heart.

Yes, that saying "don't count your chickens before they're hatched" has always been a hard one for me.

oh this bassinet!

Honestly, I figure that since I've already dreamed about chickens for like 5 years and am now handing over my Stitched savings for their possible existence (surgery = expensive and all out of pocket) that there's no way to raise those expectations any higher.  (Yes, I did say "Stitched" money.  Your patronage here at Stitched in Color is literally why we can have a chance at another baby.  My eternal thanks!!!)

Moses Basket bassinet

So this fall I bought this moses basket rocker that's been taunting me since we first added it to our family boutique in 2009.  I just think it's perfect - both a moses basket (the basket lifts off) and a cradle (it rocks) and the right height to rest by the bed for midnight feedings.  Isn't it dreamy?  The basket is handmade of corn and the fabrics are organic cotton.  Swoon.  I love how simple and old-fashioned it feels.  Gah, I. need. a. baby. in this basket!

We won't be able to start trying until the new year and we won't know if his surgery worked until we get pregnant or get tested out of frustration.  Since my family's maternity and baby webstores are closing on December 21st, I couldn't "wait and see", so I decided to go "all in" and indulge in the bassinet before my chance passed by!

my baby stash

Earlier this summer, I bought these baby things from EuphoriaBaby.com with money from pattern sales.  Thanks again!  I've tucked away these and some of my favorite things I've sewn lately for little people.

Especially stocked up on cloth diapers.  Must have!

not-so-glamours feeding gear

And I even bought these so-not-glamourous breastfeeding supplies, because 70% off is too good a deal to pass by.

Since our last day in business is just a week away, I'm taking this last chance to spread the word on our closeout sale.  At EuphoriaBaby.com all items are on sale, most around 50% off (except the moses basket, which we cannot discount per agreements).  You'll find wooden and cloth baby toys, organic crib mattress pads, glass baby bottles, organic baby clothes, lots of sippy cups and even one lone remaining Beco Baby Carrier (which I totally recommend).

At EuphoriaMaternity.com the entire store is 70% off.  Discounts are calculated in the cart. Pop some items in and be amazed at how low it goes.  All sales are final since we're closing in a week.  But, as a friend who splurged on 17 items last week would attest, our items are all very high end, made in lovely fabrics, so at these prices it's so worth it.

Ok, end of shameless baby day-dreaming and self-promotion.  When there is more to say about BABIES round these parts, I shall be tickled pink to tell you the news!

eternal gratitude
