Intrepid Thread Scrap Challenge!

Not going to QuiltCon?  Well, then, I have just the project for you....  a Scrap Challenge!

This fun, lighthearted challenge is your ticket to free fabric, a little fame and that self-induced creative high, which is of course the very best part.

Julie at The Intrepid Thread has sponsored our latest Scrap Challenge sure to get your ideas flowing.  This time we have a fat eighth bundle, so a bit more of everything to work with.  Fabrics from Anna Maria Horner, Amy Butler, Art Gallery... lots of delicious designer quilting cottons in blues and oranges.

I think I see something springy?  Something that really takes advantage of that gorgeous Lillybelle bouquet, resting on the tippity top of our fabric stack, which you can see to full effect here...

But, hey, it's not up to me.  It's up to YOU.  Yep, the ball is in your court, my friends.

Scrap Challenge from Intrepid Thread

Now, what would you make with it?  Seriously, start thinking because it's yours for the taking.  Four participants will receive a scrap bundle of all 8 fabrics shown in 18" x 11" pieces entirely free.  But, of course there's a catch.... you have to sew with it.  Like soon!  This bundle is not going to languish on those shelves.  Nosirree.

So here's how it works...  On Thursday of this week I'll announce the 4 participants, our scrap challengers.  As soon as we have your address info, The Intrepid Thread will mail out those fabrics, likely getting them in the mail by Saturday.  Then, you must make something... anything!!!! using all 8 scrap fabrics, plus one fabric of your own choosing if desired.  So, you can add the extra fabric (could be solid or print), but you don't have to.  You do have to use all 8 scraps, but you can use a little or a lot of each.  Participants can use their own buttons, trims, etc. to embellish if needed.

There's a deadline!  Really, it's a good thing, because that means you'll enjoy this now.  You must finish sewing your project and post pictures by Sunday, February 24th.  (For that reason and due to unpredictable shipping speeds, we must limit the challenge to U.S. residents.  BUT, our next Scrap Challenge is going to be for Canadians!)  Participants can either share the results on their blog, or if they don't blog, sharing pictures on flickr or anywhere else online will do.  The due date is the same weekend as QuiltCon, so keep that in mind.  We want to see what you make because...

You and your project will be featured here!  On February 25th, I'll be posting about our challengers, with pictures of your project and hopefully some tidbits about your process.  Looking forward to it!  You people never fail to inspire me!  Now, all we have to do is figure out which of you 4 are ready stitch with the Intrepid Thread challenge bundle.

So, go ahead, convince me.  I'll hand pick our participants, quite possibly with one hand tied behind my back.

I'm sure this could get interesting...
