Celebrate Color {November Prizes}

Oh dear, it's the last month of Celebrate Color, friends!  Now's the time to wrap up those projects and share them with us in time for a go at these fabulous prizes.  I hope you'll join in!

Each month at Celebrate Color we'll have 2 winners in each of the 4 categories:  Fabric {Home Decor}, Fabric {Wearables}, Yarn and Needlepoint.  That's a total of 8 winners each month!!!

Fabric {Home Decor}

1st Place:  Kona Grounded Bundle.  That's 23 solid fat quarters ranging from chocolate to ivory for 5.75 yards total of shades that will ground any project.  See all the lovely colors in the bundle here.  Donated by the generous folks at Robert Kaufman.  We love Kona, yes we do!

Next up is something I find tres exciting.  It's.... Echo by Lotta Jansdotter!!  The first place winner scores the complete fat quarter collection, plus one yard of her favorite Echo print, donated by Marmalade Fabrics (where, as it happens, Echo is in stock now!).

I'm really smitten by the "Florine" blossom print, especially in yellow.  This collection would make smashing home decor for modern homes.  It totally reminds me of the "Ikea" aesthetic.  I'm finishing up my baby quilt tonight, but I don't think that's going to be enough Echo for me.  We'll see if the stars align again!

First place will also enjoy the 15-piece Garden Thread set from Connecting Threads to round out her thread collection.  These 1200 yard spools fit regular sewing machines!  Note: Connecting Threads can only ship to US and Canada addresses.

2nd Place:  More Echo!  The complete Fat Quarter collection of Echo also ships to our 2nd place winner, courtesy of Tammy at Marmalade Fabrics.  Thanks so much, Tammy!

Fabric {Wearables}

1st Place:  4 yards of Heirloom voile!  Choose your favorite cuts from the lovely Heirloom collection stocked at Hawthorne Threads.  54" wide voile has an exquisite drape and hand for your next dress or skirt.  And wouldn't it be optimistic to start dreaming up something lovely for spring?  I think once we get past the first of the year, we'll be sewing for spring again!

Our first place winner will also choose her favorite 4 patterns by Toni of Make it Perfect.  Toni has a large selection of patterns with lots of clothes for boys, girls and moms.  You might have a hard time choosing!  Make it Perfect patterns have been recommended to me by a number in bloggers.  You might be familiar with her Shearwater Kaftan, which I've seen made up in so many pretty voiles!

2nd Place:  2 yards of Heirloom Voile - choose your favorites!  Thanks again to Hawthorne Threads.  Plus 2 patterns of your choice by Make it Perfect!

Yarn

1st Place:  Starting with some patterns from Westknits.  You'll get to choose your favorite 3 e-patterns for knitting up shawls, cowls, hats, blankets and more.  Now, I promise Westknits does have patterns suitable for women, but I was struck by how many cool projects would make handsome gifts for the men in our lives.  Check it out!

Our first place winner is also in for a huge treat from Sweet Georgia Yarns.  SweetGeorgia Yarns is an artisan yarn company that makes exquisite hand-dyed yarns for knitting and fibres for spinning.  You'll choose your very most favorite color (which will be a dreadfully difficult) and receive 4 skeins of CashLuxe Fine dyed to order! This, their most luxurious sock/fingering weight blend, includes 20% cashmere along with superwash merino and nylon. What a generous prize!

2nd Place:  Choose 1 e-pattern of your choice from Stephen of WestKnits.  Couldn't resist another shot...

And 2 skeins from Sweet Fiber.  Sweet Fiber Yarns is a Canadian indie company specializing in luxury hand dyed yarns.  Choose your favorite 2 skeins of Sweet Fiber's Cashmerino Sport in the new Jewel Tone colourways shown here.  Thanks again, Sweet Fiber!

A special thanks goes out to Shannon of LuvintheMommyhood for sourcing our Yarn prizes.  Nicely done!

Needlepoint

1st Place:  Mollie of Wild Olive has two really special e-books just released on her Etsy shop and now included here for our Celebrate Color winners!  The first place winner will receive both books, for a total of over 30 projects!  All in the Details is an e-book for the artist who wants to learn how to use specialty stitches and some alternative materials to make her work really shine.  Beyond Fabric & Floss focuses on using new types of media with your embroidery.

First place also wins a $20 Gift Certificate to the split stitch Shop, where you'll find so many sweet embroidery patterns (and some sewing patterns too).  I have my eye on her Happy Holidays hoop with several beautiful and unique pine cone renditions, as well as her day-of-the-week banners.  So cute!

2nd Place:  $20 Gift Certificate to the split stitch Shop and your choice of one of Mollie's embroidery e-books.

Hurray!  Lots of fun stuff, which is just the icing on the cake to inspire your next project.   Because, let's face it, we're all happy to create regardless of the winnings!  All the same, I wish you the best of luck.  Remember that all projects must be completed and added to our photo pools by November 26th to qualify.  Go here for details on how to enter!

If you missed it, see the main Celebrate Color page to get the scoop on all the fun!

Every single one of these prizes is being freely given to the fiber arts community by individuals who have chosen to support our event.  A huge, sincere THANKS to these companies for their support of Celebrate Color!
