Celebrate Color {October Prizes}

A new month and a new round of prizes!  I've hunted around for lovely fabrics, notions and patterns that I would be thrilled to win myself, especially at this time of year.  I hope you find something that inspires you to be creative this October!

Each month at Celebrate Color we'll have 2 winners in each of the 4 categories:  Fabric {Home Decor}, Fabric {Wearables}, Yarn and Needlepoint.  That's a total of 8 winners each month!!!

Fabric {Home Decor}

1st place:  Kona Candy Corn Bundle.  That's 22 solid fat quarters ranging from orange to yellow for 5.5 yards total of color good enough to eat.  See all the lovely colors in the bundle here.  Donated by the generous folks at Robert Kaufman, who are giving a Kona bundle for every month of Celebrate Color!

But that's not all.  The first place winner also gets the complete Fat Quarter set of Outfoxed by Lizzy House!!!  This is a collection that I can't wait to see in person.  Thanks to Pink Castle Fabrics for gifting this 27 piece set.  Here's a sampling from the soon-to-be-released collection:

And, add to that the 10-piece Neutral Thread set from Connecting threads so nothing can get in the way of your stitching.  These 1200 yard spools fit regular sewing machines!

2nd place:  $30 Gift Certificate to Canadian-based Mad About Patchwork, for fabric and quilt kits like "City Green" by Cherri House that ship anywhere in the world.

And, 2nd place also gets 9 Fat Quarters of Outfoxed by Lizzy House, choose your favorite color story!  With Outfoxed donated this time by Fresh Modern Fabric.

Fabric {Wearables}

1st Place:  5 Yards of Flannel from Fat Quarter Shop!  Choose your favorites in their large selection of designer flannels, including Sock Monkey and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.  I think it's time to make those little ones some new PJ's!

First place also wins my favorite two PDF bag patterns designed by the uber talented Anna of Noodlehead.  Her 241 Tote has been such a hit, you've probably seen it around a blog or two, and her newly released G o Anywhere Bag looks like my kind of purse with tons of clever pockets.

And to help you stamp your creations with a professional touch, you'll also receive 50 custom tags from Gutentags!  I've just started using these ribbon labels and completely love the way they look.  Cassie is great at helping you understand your options too.

2nd Place:   3 Yards of Flannel from Fat Quarter Shop!  Choose your favorites.  Here are two more adorable collections for children:  Children at Play, and Cape Ann.

Also 2 PDF bag patterns by Anna of Noodlehead - the 241 Tote and G o Anywhere Bag!

Yarn

1st Place:  This month our first place yarn winner scores an amazing knitting bag by Jordana Paige!  These bags have all sorts of pockets and neat features to keep your everyday stuff super organized.  But beyond that they're also designed for the knitter, with places for knitting needles and circlets to keep yarn from tangling as you knit.  Stash a whole project in your bag for knitting on the go!  Winner will receive the Rio bag in Lapis Blue!

You'll also choose a Four Seasons Hat Kit by Tanis Fiber Arts, which includes full color patterns for 4 colorwork hats and enough of her hand dyed yarn to knit it up.  Choose your favorite yarn palette: spring, summer, autumn or winter.   These colors for "spring" are calling to me.

And here's the autumn hat!  Tanis also sells her lovely yarn in a full range of gorgeous hues

And last, but definitely not least, the first place winner will take home a Knit Picks Zephyr Circular Needle Set.  This interchangeable set provides a whole range of knitting needle tip sizes and cables at 24" and 32".  All the sizes you need without the fuss.  These kits are so clever!  And, I've heard from reliable sources that they're also a pleasure to use.
2nd Place:  You'll also get to check out the Knit Picks interchangeable needle sets with the Try It Needle set.  This set includes wood, nickle and zephyr tips with a 24" cable so that you can test out all three needle finishes offered by Knit Picks.

How about some yarn with that?  Choose 1 skein of fingering weight yarn and a pattern from Everything Old.   Em at Everything Old produces one-of-a-kind hand dyed yarns and handspun yarns out of her home studio.  Just look at them!

Plus, you'll receive another 2 skeins from Sweet Fiber.  Sweet Fiber Yarns is a Canadian indie company specializing in luxury hand dyed yarns.  Choose your favorite 2 skeins of Sweet Fiber's Cashmerino Sport in the new Jewel Tone colourways shown here.  So pretty!

A special thanks goes out to Shannon of LuvintheMommyhood for sourcing our Yarn prizes again this month!

Needlepoint

1st Place:  1 Yard bundle of Anna Maria Horner's just-released Needleworks fabric collection!  Yes, you get a yard of each, for a total of 6 yards of ready-to-be-stitched goodness.  I'm eager to get my hands on these myself.   I love the idea of cutting them up to add little hand-stitched motifs to patchwork and applique projects!  Or... maybe a whole, gorgeous runner!

In addition, you'll receive both embroidery floss collections produced by Anna Maria Horner to compliment her designs.

2nd Place:  2 yards of your choice from Loulouthi Needleworks AND an embroidery floss set of your choice.  Thanks to Freespirit for donating these generous prizes for first and second place!

I don't know which category I'd want to win most!  I hope you're just as excited as I am and feeling motivated to finish up those projects you started in September.  Remember these are our October prizes only.  November's will be different!  All projects must be completed and added to our photo pools by October 26th to qualify.  Go here for details on how to enter!

If you missed it, see the main Celebrate Color page to get the scoop on all the fun!

Every single one of these prizes is being freely given to the fiber arts community by individuals who have chosen to support our event.  A huge, sincere THANKS to these companies for their support of Celebrate Color!
