I promised...

I promised my mama I'd make her some pillows. I think the idea was in January, and here we are already in February.  I'm glad she's been so patient with me, but I do really want to start.

One lovely afternoon we surfed Flickr together to find inspiration.  You see, my mom is a lady who loves curves - ovals, circles, swirls.  I tend to gravitate towards angles - diamonds, squares, rectangles, wonky lines.  She loves my style, but not for her house, ya know?  So, we needed somewhere for my brain to start.

Pillow Inspiration in Curves
pillows by Scrapstudio, lost and fawned, Anna Maria Horner and Cluck. Cluck. Sew

I think these four beauties are a fabulous start.  You can see that she favors the dresden plate look (which incidentally, I have no feelings for and would never have dreamed up myself).  I believe that a rectangle pillow will be my next small project.  Only problem is there are 2 quilts standing in the way right now, and one is a doozie.  More on that later.

Delilah

Perhaps you are cooking up your own pillow dreams for Blogger's Pillow Party this February?  Rita announced the prize - it's a sweet set of Delilah by Tanya Whelan donated by Fresh Squeezed Fabrics.  Since February is a short month, you only have until the 24th to make your entry.

Do you have a pillow in the works?
