Events

I just love the virtual sewing community!  You all are so, SO many talented.  Here are some fun community events I've organized in the past to bring us together.  They're chock full of great links for inspiration and tutorials!

The Craft Show Series:   How I prepared for my first craft show. From inventory planning to pricing and booth design, with all the little details in between.

new Scrap Challenge!Scrap Challenges:  4 lucky readers get to try their hand at a custom scrap pack offered by one of my sponsors.  In a few weeks, they report back with amazing creations.  The only rules - use all the fabrics and only add one extra.  Make anything you want!  We're always inspired by what they create.
          *Summer Breeze Scrap Challenge (July, 2012)
          *Blue Moon Scrap Challenge (October 2012)
          *Intrepid Thread Scrap Challenge (February 2013)

Softly Against Black {a mosaic contest}
Fabric Mosaic Contests:  Readers are invited to carefully craft a mosaic of 12 fabrics, based off the mood inspired by my prompt.  If your mosaic is voted one of the best, you're rewarded with a fat quarter set of those very fabrics!
          *Softly Against Black (September 2012)
          *Emerald (January 2013)
          *Sweet Contrary (April 2013)

Scrap Attack:  A collaborative Quilt-Along, including 8 tutorials for working with scraps from some very talented bloggers!  All the scrappy goodness culminated in the Festival of Scrappiness.  Tons of fun and inspiration to be had!

Celebrate Color:   Celebrating the colors of fall with inspiration, tutorials, contests and prizes.  Because color inspires us all, Celebrate Color included fiber artists of all kinds:  embroidery, crochet, knitting, quilting, home decor, clothing and any kind of wearable.

Blogger's Pillow Party:  Be inspired to spruce up your nest with a handmade pillow. You'll find 4 months of beautiful pillows!

{Quilt-Alongs}

Colorbrick: My first quilt-along based on my first every quilt!  This is a great quilt for beginners.  The quilt-along includes basic quilting skills like using a rotary cutter, chain-piecing, basting, binding and quilting.

Bottled Rainbows:  It's time to do something fabulous with all your teeny tiny scraps!  This ticker tape quilt along was so, SO much fun.  Making the blocks is fairly addictive - fair warning!

Value Dance:  Using value (light and dark fabrics) with intention will add depth to your quilt designs and fabric choices.  Learn all about value via the Value Added Quilt-Along and find instructions to make my Value Dance quilt.
