Japanese fabrics, organic fabrics, washi tape, craft supplies and products in one place, where anyone can find something that makes them smile and inspires them to be creative. And best of all for those of us stateside, everything ships from the United States. Whoot!
Proprietess Christine Tsai is mostly inspired by the Japanese "kawaii" aesthetic, which guides her store selections. She says, "Not everything is
Japanese, but everything is cute"
I'm going to have to agree. A meander through Maigo yields not only characteristic Japanese fabrics, but so many adorable notions and giftables as well. If you make children's clothing, you'll be making eyes at the covered buttons and sweet linen tape trims.
Myself, with Christmas approaching, couldn't help but wonder if miss Aria would be charmed by a kitty cat tape dispenser and washi assortment, or if new baby should be pampered with one of those adorable 9" washies in double gauze/terry cloth by Shinzi Kato (but how to choose?!).
Since this IS a fabricy place, I should also be sure to point out that Maigo stocks a collection of Lotta Jansdotter fabrics and organic fabrics by Cloud 9, Birch and Monoluna! To help you get a feel for her store, Christine has created a special giveaway prize: 16 Japanese fabric fat quarters, along with 2 double sets of holiday-themed washi tapes!
Isn't that color gorgeous! So cheerful and bright.
This giveaway is open to anyone, anywhere (and Maigo does ship internationally!). To enter, add your comment now through noon on Sunday, the 13th (eastern time). I'll select one random winner.
Our winner is comment #211, miss Jackie. Congrats! I'll be in touch.
