have a Scandi Christmas!

I am probably the last person this year to admit on my blog that it's time to think about Christmas.  But, truly, when I came across the Scandi Christmas fabric collection at Shabby Fabrics the ice around my grinchy heart melted a bit.

It's those deer and snowflakes and sweater-inspired rows.
I can't resist.

Hmmm... what I could make for Christmas this year?

Scandi Christmas fabrics

Watch out, if you're trying to resist the holiday project snowball effect.  There's a sweet stocking panel designed to become an advent countdown project and another panel full of framed holiday vignettes.

Plus, Shabby Fabrics has produced and kitted up several enticing projects:  a tree skirt, table runner and wall hanging.  Learn how to English paper piece the stars with this Shabby Fabrics free video tutorial!  Find the patterns and kitted pattern options right here.

Also, and this is unusual for a holiday collection, there's a fat quarter set of taupe-y neutrals from Scandi Christmas.   What perfect background fabrics for holiday projects or springboard for more subtle decor!

::Giveaway::

If you find yourself dreaming of a Scandi Christmas this year, why not put your name in the hat to win some cloth?  Shabby Fabrics is giving away one panel + two yards of Scandi Christmas (1 yard cuts, winner's choice) to one lucky reader.  International entries welcome!  Enter now by adding your comment to this post before noon (eastern time) on Monday.

  49. oops, where did that comment disappear to? Anyway - great giveaway Rachel - so perfect to get the holiday creativity going. I learned some of my needle arts from an old scandanavian woman and I'll always treasure her and the slant that the work brings to Christmas. Red and white ... yum. And the neutrals are my cup of tea. Thanks so much for this opportunity ... and P.S. you cannot possibly have a single iota of Grinch in your soul!

  52. Oh, Rachel, you are enticing me. Those fabrics are beguiling! I am sewing for Christmas...but I am making US flag quilts for family members. When those are done, I am putting together those quick fleece tie together throws for grandchildren. I have a Christmas quilt all cut out from last year I didn't sew I need to do. Then there is a queen size quilt I want to get done for my son and his wife of three and a half months. Do I need more fabric? No. Do I love what you showed today? Yes! I adore it!

    ReplyDelete
  53. All so pretty! Put on those Christmas tunes!

    ReplyDelete
  54. P.S. How did Eleni do this week? That is why I looked at your blog anyway. See how easily I am distracted by fabric? I actually pray about my fabriholic condition at times when I feel ready to buy. I think, "The Lord is my shepherd. I shall NOT WANT." The caps are meant for me. I do not intend them for anyone else because I am the one with 70 projects lined up. If other people have 3000 projects of fabric, that is just fine. I don't care about how much other people spend at all. It's good for the economy. I just want to control Moi!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Great projects to complete before Christmas! I promised myself no more fabric before Christmas. So much for promises!
