into the Woods

a quilt top!

a quilt top!

I have had quite a day.  Was woken up early this morning by a strong labor pattern that persisted for 3 hours and then puttered out. We've been on again off again all day, mostly off though.  So annoying, so confusing.

The only thing about today that's gone as planned is I completed this quilt top.  (Though that was my plan before all this started, to be fair.)  And I do quite like it.  Thank goodness for little pieces of color and control.

  3. The quilt is lovely. I'm sure your customer will be thrilled with it. Does it have a hand-embroidered square? Or is that a print? I can't tell from the pic.
You are such a fast sew-er! Boy, do you get things done!
When you hadn't posted at your usual time today, I thought there was action on the baby front. And there was--sort of. Hang in there--everything in its time.

  4. The embroidered bits look lovely in there.

And I can't help remember when you truly didn't know whether another child would ever arrive. Now, joy of joys, you do know. Eleni will be here. She's on her way.

  8. The quilt looks great. I was wondering, too, if Eleni had made her appearance since I didn't see anything from you earlier today. Sounds like she's considering it. :D

  16. Eeeeek! Sounds so close! It's funny you mention little pieces of control. That was the hardest part of my transition from one child to two; when my now five month old had just arrived, I felt like my world was absolutely out of control - I felt I had no influence on whether each day was a success or disaster in my little world. I expect you're a little more organized that I am though... I'll still send you good luck wishes. ;) That picture of your kitty in the barn is amazing, by the way! (as is your quilt top!!!)

  20. How exciting! Both the quilt and the labor. I know it's frustrating, I went through quite a bit of "labor" before the real thing happened with my other kids, but you are getting close!

  23. I like how you showed the piece for the block laid out next to your sewing machine as even more how you have stuck all the pins of the same color into a coordinating fabric on your pincushion.
