a quilty Calendar

My wall calendar hangs above my desk in "the green room" (aka my sewing room), where I tippity type almost-daily blog posts and hatch grand plans.  It's a cozy place with bright moss-green walls that somehow manage to simultaneously soothe and energize me.  The calendar is tres important.

on my wall!

In 2013 I've been meandering through a Stitched in Color calendar I created last year via RedBubble (get it for 2014 here).  I've loved seeing my artwork on the wall in print, and will certainly make one again some year.  But not this year.

a 2014 calendar

This year a friend turned me on to a calendar offered by the Etsy shop one Canoe two.  The talented owners draw and hand-paint each page of patchwork-inspired artwork from their barn in Missouri.  It was love at first sight with the Pieces & Patterns 2014 wall calendar.

Each page is so inspiring I was hard-pressed to choose just a few to share.  Visit the listing to see more previews.

This one happens to work nicely with what's on my table!

So come January first, I'll be hanging this beauty to welcome the new year.  Thanks to one Canoe two for sending a calendar my way.  And thanks to Annabelle for sharing the link.

Welcome new year.  I'm ready!

  1. True story: I look at their calendars EVERY YEAR! and can never talk myself into buying one. I'm kind of cheap like that. This year they have some really great options though, especially that quilty one. Love it.

  2. OMG I love your green wall! Can I come live in your house? Or will you come select paints for mine?

    1. Oh no, you don't want me to choose paints. I've had some epic fails! Haha. Including our laundry room which feels like a cave because it's such a dark eggplant purple...

  4. Oh, I almost bought that calendar! I'm a huge 1Canoe2 fan...randomly discovered them years ago on Etsy and I have two of their block-prints hanging in my kitchen. They are one of my favorite to follow on Instagram and Pinterest too. Enjoy your calendar!

  6. I bought the same calendar, but paid $8 more at Paper Source! I'm glad to know of the etsy shop for future purchases. So much inspiration for quilters in these patterns.

  7. I have this calendar, too, and just hung it over my sewing table! I love their Etsy store -- great recipe cards, too. I'm planning to make some quilts inspired by their artwork this year, for sure!

    1. Such a small world that so many of us have already seen or purchased this calendar! I've been thinking about which months would be most interesting to sew. September looks like a challenge!

  11. Ohhh I love the colour of your walls, will be painting my work space some time this year but it is a sort of lavender at the moment. Tend to owrk better with diarys than calenders although we do have a family one in the kitchen which I have to trasfer all my diary things onto so everyone knows where I have gone when not here! Happy new year
