Goats at Play

Just for kicks, a little pet action.  Scrap wood + Brandon's handy skills = Happy Goats.  Psst, that little voice is Liam's!

The dowel that is taped with red duct tape to Rosy's head keeps her from getting her head stuck in the fence. She has a consistent yearning for the grass on the other side.  After she wears it for about a month, we should be able to remove the dowel and she'll have, hopefully, dropped the habit.  Fingers crossed!

  9. Big sigh (literally) I LOVE goats!!!!!!
Do you think Rosy has become a bit diva-ish with her new horns, she certainly seems to own them well....I would never get anything done if I had goats.
ps so great to see live action of your life x

    1. I think the dowel gives her an unfair advantage! haha. The llama is terrified of her new "horns". She seems to be pretty oblivious and at first would knock them into her friends quite often just walking buy.

  10. So adorable! Love their white bodies and brown heads - great color contrast. Good color inspiration for a "playful" quilt perhaps?! Thanks for sharing their happiness. (:

Here in Portland there's a guy that takes his goats different places for weed control.

  12. We needed Brandon's skills when I was a kid (pun not intended) on the farm. Our goats would play like that on the farm car's bonnet. Luckily, it was an old car. They liked to sleep on the warm metal roof and bonnet too. His construction has a bit of a car shape, I think!

  15. Love the playpad! We had a Boer goat who used to get her head stuck in the fence. Wish we had thought of the dowel idea.
