Hehehe... it's done! Can't wait to see her expression!
The Sparklers Quilt is so light and bright that we decided a mostly-black pillow would contrast nicely.
Yesterday she picked up some triangle scraps from the quilt, remarking on how she'd like the pillow to also have touches of Kona Jade, Kona Artichoke and Kona Wine (ok, but not in those exact words). So, I went ahead and used the triangle scraps to make a piecy-improv edging on this large piece of dandelion fabric.

Finished her up with a simple envelope closure, and Ta Da... surprise!
And that, my friends, is what sewing is all about! Weeee! Can I get an "amen"?

So cool! The dandelions look like sparklers!
ReplyDeleteExactly what I love about sewing...making stuff to show people you love them. :)

ReplyDeleteWell, it's still a work in progress. Here are some of the original posts about it: http://www.stitchedincolor.com/search?q=chanin+dress. I'm over 3/4's of the way done and have recently started working on it again. It's been nice to let myself do it as often and when I want, really enjoying the process.
