Registration Opens Today!

Today registration opens at my shop for the encore version of Curves Class and Handstitched at Stitched in Color!  Are you ready?  We're going to make so many pretty things!

For detailed project previews and more info on the classes themselves, please see the Class Encore info post.  Following are details that you'll want fresh in your mind today as you register.

a Curves Class project
::My Class Formats::

All classes are delivered via password protected blogs.  I love this format because with a blog you have access to the class at any time and from anywhere, with an interactive format that allows me to publicly answer questions.  Blog posts go up regularly as the class progresses.  Students are also encouraged to use a free Flickr account to upload photos of their projects to the Stitched in Color flickr group.  This group is a great way to see what others are making, form friendships and ask questions of your fellow students in the discussion threads!

With both Curves and Handstitched, you can choose from 3 class levels.  The super affordable Basic Class includes everything you're used to seeing from me in the way of detailed, step-by-step picture-packed tutorials and access to all projects at $35/$45.  The Premium Class adds extra helpful (and time-intensive) features like videos and a PDF eBook of the course (delivered at class conclusion) at $55/$65.  And then there is a smaller, more exclusive Camp for folks that want it all, plus lots of interaction, more of a community feeling and the give and take encouragement you'd experience in a real in-person class.   There will be one Curves Camp and one Handstitched Camp, each capped at 20 students (er, campers) at $85.  We'll get to know each other via weekly live chats and you'll earn "merit badges" for completed class projects.  Yep, it's corny, and I love it!  If you earn 5 merit badges (one from each week of class) for projects completed within 30 days after the last lesson, I'll be sending you a little something handmade by me as a souvenir of Camp.  I love that part!

Handstitched encore

There is an early registration discount of $10 for Basic and Premium levels, only applicable this week through January 4th.  It is possible that classes may sell out before that time!

Your access to the class blog will remain open 45 days after the last day of class, during which time I will continue answering questions.  After those 45 days, the blog will be closed and you will no longer be able to login.  This provides much-need motivation for us to get everything we can out of the class in real time, rather than leaving it open ended for "someday."  Remember, if you buy the Premium or Camp versions, you'll have an eBook for your continued reference, so you can still enjoy any projects you missed!

::Summary::

Registration for both classes opens Today!

Please choose just one class!  I promise - you wouldn't be able to be active in both classes simultaneously. My classes are chock full with lots of material to make them worth your time and money.

Curves Class (5 week course) runs January 14th through February 13th.  New material is posted day to day in this class, with weekly themes:  Basic Curves, Improv Curves, Precise Curves, Advanced Curves, Curvy Quilts. Some of our projects:

Handstitched Class (9 week course, 5 weeks of instruction) runs January 14th through March 15th.  New material is posted day to day during instruction weeks, which alternate with weeks "off" to work at your stitching.  Weekly themes:  Reverse Applique, Embroidery, English Paper Piecing, Applique, Hand Quilting.  Some of our projects:

Handstitched class quilt

Eyelet Needlebook project

I hope that you find a place that meets your needs and your budget.  Registration for Curves Class also includes access to purchase Christina's Retro Flowers pattern at 50% off!  Registration for Handstitched includes a free Penguin & Fish embroidery pattern!  Student kits are not available for Handstitched encore class.

Alright, that's everything!  Please join in.  We're going to have a blast!

  2. Awesome! One question...since you aren't doing kits this time for Hanstitched, will there be a supplies list sent out or posted so we can order before the start of class?

    1. Yes! I'm all over that =). There are detailed supplies lists for both classes posted at the class blogs right now. So, you'll be able to plan ahead over these two weeks before class starts. Now, not ALL projects are revealed with supplies lists, but many are. And, for Handstitched there is a complete supplies list for the Modern Medallion project, which is the biggest one of course.

      Welcome back, Amanda!

  3. I'm interested in the rainbow road project as I'm curious how you sewed the curves. But I don't like to make the other projects. Maybe someday I'll have an idea how you do it.
    Happy new year!

  11. I've been a long time lurker here and I love your blog. I signed up for hand stitched this morning and I am so excited about it. I'm a hand quilter, but I've been too intimidated to try either embroidery or appliqué before. Looking forward to learning lots of new things!

  12. Hello: I have been a lurker for some time now and time to get going on some of the beautiful things you do. So I signed up for the Curves camp! I was initially pulled in by your patchwork curtains! I have a decor book of Muriel Brandolini and she has done many patchwork type curtains. I googled patchwork curtains and there you were! I am very excited Rachel. I have been laid off from my job and need something to look forward to.

  13. We've recently relocated overseas, and our household goods have yet to arrive. I'd like to sign up for the basic curves course, but I may not have a sewing machine for the first week or two of the course. Would you recommend taking the course anyway or waiting for another installment? Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Since I don't have plans to offer these courses again, I would recommend taking the class anyways. You have a full 45 days after the last lessons are delivered with the class blog still open and me actively answering questions. That should allow you to catch up what you miss. Plus, if you buy the Premium version you will receive an eBook at the end of course so the course stays with you forever!

  15. Took both of these classes last year and loved every single moment! The projects are thoughtful and fun to make. I'm looking forward to Rachel's future classes.

    Thanks!
