on another Cloudy Day

Ok, it's been crazy around here.  Between getting ready to open registration, hubby running off on a backpacking trip and Grandma on vacation, I have been mother 24-7 and I need a break.

Today I'd also like a break in the clouds.  Just this morning I finished the last of the projects that will be shown in tomorrow's reveal and ALL the photographs need to be taken today.  So that's just a leetle pressure.

another cloudy day

I was lucky to find a spot in our house where the sun is obliging.  See, I've almost received all of the blocks from my bee friends at the Love circle.

Polaroids by Love circle

It's a pretty cool bunch of polaroids!  I really like what happens when I throw them together like this.  Maybe I can do that in quilt form?  The wheels are starting to turn.

Meanwhile, I'm off to bake a batch of cookies for my friend who's birthday is today.  I've got 33 minutes until it's time to leave and the kids are in "rest time" so the kitchen is all my own.  Wish me luck!  Pretty sure I need it.

  3. They're great and I've spotted Maureen's contribution.. I only realised how itty bitty they are when I spotted the love birds in the lower left corner of the last picture just now. Crazy. I've made two of my polaroids using them, too, but having tried to stick as closely as possible to the the original polaroid's measurements to please purists, I've fitted a few more birds into the picture part.

This will look so lovely when done up!

  7. Those little Polaroids are going to make a GORGEOUS quilt! I daydreamed once about making a quilt like that... but was a little intimidated by how long it would take (of course, later I ended up starting an insane postage stamp quilt that will take forever to finish so maybe it's not so intimidating after all!). A bee is definitely the way to go on something like that! :)

  9. Those blocks remind me of pages in those ring-back stamp albums. I can see sashing with a row of dots pretending to be the row of punched holes for the rings ...

  10. It takes me at least an hour to make cookies with all the distractions at my house and I don't have lil' ones yet! You sound like super woman to make them in 33min. ;)
Can't wait for registration to open up! I'm so in.

  19. Those are such cute blocks. And I hear ya about being mom 24/7--my hubby goes out of town four times a year, for 10+ days at a time. And I don't have any family to fall back on for help!

  22. These look great! I would gladly trade you a sunny day for an overcast day. I don't like taking photos outside in bright sun as they are too contrasty.
