Snapshots from the Shop Hop

It's a whirlwind for sure.  Surreal.  Jam-packed.

Learning?  Yes  Meeting new friends?  Absolutely.  There's been barely a minute to breathe, but here between classes today I'll share some snapshots from the Shop Hop, yesterday's bus tour of three Salt Lake City quilt shops.

  1. oooh I love that hopscotch! Very fun. I couldn't imagine long arm quilting in public like that. i'm sure I'd mess up because people are watching. lol

    Thanks for sharing pics!

  2. Oh my... what fun! So many beautiful fabrics, so little time! Love the stuff you got...

  3. The shopkeepers must have thought it was Christmas come early!

  4. Looks like so much fun! Oooooo the goodies I'm missing out on here on the east coast - no fair! :) Nice stash additions and that pic outside of you 4 is so cute.

  5. As I took A Long long look at the solids wall I was thinking it would make a beautiful Dead Simple quilt........OOOOOOOOO Fabrics.LOL

  6. Holy moly I would have no self control

  7. Wow! Looks like soooo much madness. Good madness though. -:)

  8. I'm excited we met! I'm now a follower of your blog!

  9. What fun! Thanks for sharing the photos! We'll be anxious to see your new projects!

  10. wow, so fun! i think if a bus pulled up to our little quilt shop, we'd panic a little... but then break out the wine for a party.

  11. geez it looks like a blast! and those mountains!!! wait, no, those FABRICS! :-)

  12. Oh, I'm so glad you made it to Material Girls. I live in SLC, and that is my FAVORITE shop!

  13. I was so hoping someone would post pictures of "Sewing Summit". I wanted to go so bad! Now I'll know what I'm missing ;). Thanks...hoping you'll post more pictures!

  14. How fun!!! Thank you so much for sharing, Rachel! I am wondering -- are they planning on the Summit being in SLC every year? I hope it ends up being somewhere closer to us East Coaster's next year! :)

  15. oooh, all those lovely fabrics, looks like you're all having great fun

  16. Now THAT is my idea of a good time!

  17. I wish I could be there!!!! But, seeing as I'm only 14, and therefore would have to travel with an adult (ie. my parents) who would rather do something else than quilt and sew and travel to quilt shops.... But, that looks like soo much fun! :)

  18. oh boy!, how exciting.....wishing i was there.

  19. Which three stores did you guys stop at? I know Quilts Etc since that's only 3 miles from my house, and I recognize The Material Girl Quilts since I've been there a few times, but what store was the third?

  20. That looks like so much fun - I'm jealous I didn't get to go to the sewing summit this year and get to visit those gorgeous shops...although at the moment, I'm sure my bank account is thanking me for not going...

  21. Rachel, I'm so glad I met you! You're so much fun, and it was a wonderful weekend. I was sad to see it end, and I'm sorry we didn't get to say goodbye! You were way better than me about taking pictures!

  22. That was so fun! I can't believe how fast the weekend went. So glad I met you in person!

  23. Oh, I need the same shop in my country too!!! :-)

  24. Jacey - Well, I took a ton that first day, and then I got lazy!

Lyanna - Oh, definitely. Course, I spent more money on food than fabric. And, that's just wrong.

Amber - the other store was Pine Needles. They were crazy decked out for Halloween.

Charlotte - you would have one a ton of prizes for being the youngest, cutest one there!

Maureen - I think it'll be in SLC every time, but I'm not sure. I think moving it about would be an awesome idea!

Jessica - there may have been wine...

Esch - Loads is no kidding. Some people took home 25 lbs of fabric between the shop hop and all the prizes!

Tiffany - Thanks. That is my ONLY cute picture. I promise.

Sweet Prairie - Yes, I was probably a little cruel to take pictures while she worked. Darn blogger paparazzi.

  25. All that pretty fabric and notions. So much fun.

  26. I had so much fun chatting on the bus with you and that was just the beginning of the weekend!!

  27. Visiting SLC from the UK, what a shame I missed the summit, least I can check out the shops though!
