Ok folks, it's less than 2 weeks until the cut off for project entries to win September prizes. And, I'm a little bit nervous because we have zip, zero, zilch entries in the Yarn category. Now I know that crochet and knitting aren't the most speediest of crafts, but can you promise me that you're working on something? Otherwise, I just don't know what we'll do with all that gorgeous yarn and all those yummy Jane Richmond patterns. Hmm... what would we do?
Today my friend Kate at One Flew Over is sharing a free pattern for your personal edification. She's done and made that gorgeous mustardy crochet scarf, which quite happily involves just a few basic crochet stitches. And, goodness, look at how she wears it! You can download Kate's PDF pattern here and also find it here on Ravelry if you like.
What's this I hear?
** "Rachel, I made the most fabulous, most spiffy scarf, but how do I enter my fine crafty goodness?" Details here.
** "Prizes, what prizes?" Take a gander.
** "Wait a minute, I missed something, what IS Celebrate Color?" Oh, did I skip that? Nope, here ya go.
Or, if you're the quite type, just stop by Celebrate Color central for ongoing updates to all our going-ons. The deadline's September 26th people! See you there.

I'm knitting away over here, it's just the finishing that's getting in the way of posting anything. But I promise to have it done by the end of the week!
ReplyDeleteOh Rachel!!! I should knit something!! especially because I broke my sewing machine last week and I'm still waiting for a part to come in :(
ReplyDeleteDid you see that your Bottled Rainbows was featured on Sew Mama Sew. That is a huge giveway for quilters and wannabe's alike. Congrats.
ReplyDeleteI seriously need to learn how to crochet!
ReplyDeleteI've been working on a test knit and another seekrit sewing project, but I have desperate hopes to knit something up quickly. I didn't know the deadline was Sept. 26th, though. Thanks for pointing that out, or I would have missed it! September is going by too quickly!
ReplyDeleteAnd I LOVE this yellow crocheted beauty. I definitely want to give it a try, and I hope I can handle it, since I'm a total newbie at crochet.
ohh i'm a knittin'!! just have to get some decent photos!
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm knitting alright, but it is my first project ever and would not win ANY awards! I just hope to have it done for my son to wear this winter! :o). I love seeing what everyone makes, so thanks for hosting this!
ReplyDeleteThanks, folks, I feel so much better just knowing the yarn is flying out there somewhere. Can't wait to see what you come up with!
ReplyDeleteThis won't take any more than 2 nights in front of the TV!

I JUST finished my knitting project Rachel! My two year old now loves watching YouTube videos of casting off...hahahahaa. I just need a photographer (i.e. The Mr.) to help me take photos modeling my finished product. I promise to post by Sept 26th!!!
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, I can't help but read your entire post in Tim Gunn's voice. Which makes it especially amusing! If I knew how to knit or crochet, I'd definitely get right on it, and make it work!

ReplyDeleteI just need to post one here - also, September is FLY.ing.
ReplyDeleteI'm almost finished with a string bag! I should be making the last few stitches in it tomorrow...
