That white/black tape measure print, which I LOVE and had previously missed!
In fact, she has tape measures in white/black and yellow/black by Cosmo Cricket. Both have made an appearance in my Summer Sampler quilt and both are hard-to-find I also indulged in that adorable Lizzie House ducky print. My sister's having a baby girl, so that may explain why I have baby fabrics on the brain. See those cute, teeny-tiny socks? I'm seeing this GooGoo Socks by Alexander Henry as a shoo-in for a pacifier chain or other bitty baby items. In fact, just looking at these fabrics is getting me all inspired to start work on her gift package. Baby is due in October. Oh, how time flies!

I restocked some key Konas. You probably know Cerise, Coal and Canary, but take a look at Melon. Most stores don't stock this shade, but it's a goodie. I like that it's pink but not precious. At Fresh Modern Fabric, Alice lists her Kona's as shown below, which makes it so easy to find what you need.
Here are a few more of my favorite things available at the shop...
Hands down, Alice has good taste. Just when my friend had turned me on to Lakehouse Dry Goods as people to watch for cool "word" fabrics, Alice shared that she'd received the uber-popular Annie's Farm Stand collection. If you're not familiar, this collection is very detailed. And that's exactly when the fact that Alice takes a million pictures of the fabrics in natural lighting really comes in handy. She loads several pictures for most prints including: a scale picture with a quarter, detail close-ups, a picture of the selvage, and pictures of any bundles. She posts all pictures to the Fresh Modern Fabric Facebook page in albums. So, if you visit her on Facebook it's an easy way to browse new prints at the shop in a picture-heavy, time-light way. For example, check out Annie's Farm Stand album. Isn't that so helpful?
Maybe you've also been wishing for some word fabric? Want to win this bundle?

Miss Alice is generously gifting one commenter a bundle of 5 fat quarters. These are the Seed Cataolgue prints in various colorways. To enter, please "like" Fresh Modern Fabric on facebook so that you can keep up with newly added fabrics OR visit the Fresh Modern Fabric shop, then return back here to give Alice some feedback in a comment. As a new fabric shop, I'm sure she'd love to know what fabric catches your eye or what's missing for you.
Either way, please come back here and leave a comment - just one - to enter. Winner will be announced on Saturday around noon, after which comments will be closed.
******** Updated August 6th
Consulted Random.org on Saturday afternoon, and the winner is comment ONE. Which is hilarious and especially ironic, since her comment includes "Not sure I want to be the first comment - it never wins!!" Well, just goes to show that it never hurts to try. Sabs, I'll be contacting you today!

Not sure I want to be the first comment - it never wins!! Anyway, I love the oranges metro market - it's so fresh! Fingers crossed...
ReplyDelete(sabinamoolla@hotmail.com)
Love all the fabrics, I especially like seeing the selvedge and the scale .. (there's a certain place I've been where the selvedge eats up at least one inch of fabric and that's important to know when purchasing fabric).
ReplyDeletelots of good stuff! i really love the viewmaster red ruby rising and the heather ross laundry prints.
ReplyDeleteknottygnome@gmail.com
Thank you for this opportunity:) What a lovely giveaway!! I'm in love with the Griffith Park, In the Kitchen Alexander Henry!! Isn't it the cutest??
ReplyDeletet_neni@yahoo.com
Great collection! She has a lot of prints I haven't seen before, and I love the Kona selection.
ReplyDeleteI've ordered from Fresh Modern Fabrics a couple of times before. I have to say, I love that she sends little snippet samples of newer fabrics. It's a nice little extra that really makes a difference. I think you've got a great new sponsor! I just visited her shop again, and I do love that Alice carries so many colors of Quilter's Linen!
ReplyDeleteOh I like!!! THe shop collection looks awesome RIGHT up my alley!
ReplyDeleteyea! beautiful fabric, i 'liked' her on facebook, would love a chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI like Fresh Modern Fabric on FB, and I LOVE words on fabric. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great shop! and she's stocking Pearl Bracelets too!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Oh yum, one of my fav etsy shops. Yummy scrumptious fabrics...
ReplyDeleteI love her fabric choices. I just love fabric bundles that include fabrics from different fabric lins that coordinate. It would be nice to see more of these type of fabric bundles.
ReplyDeleteI love those Appleville Portaits. I've never seen them. Very cute.
ReplyDeleteI love that tape measure fabric! And the seed packets are so adorably vintage.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely selection ofunusual and interesting prints. I especially like the printed words.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh!! I love her store SO much already! Lakehouse is hard to find and I love it so much!! I am now a facebook fan and will definately keep an eye on her shop!! Yay!! Thank you!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE Annie's Farm Stand and the new shop is fantastic!!!
ReplyDeleteI "liked" her on Facebook - thanks so much for the chance to win! So much cute fabric in the shop. One comment I'd have would be maybe to make it a little clearer about how many fat quarters you get in a bundle - Some of the pictures make it look like you get more than you are actually buying.
ReplyDeleteGreat shop to order from. I have had quick and courteous service.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win some very nice fabric!

I have clicked to 'like' and my word do I! That is my dream shop! Alice has the best taste ever!
ReplyDeleteVery nicely set up shop, and good choices on the categories. :) Thanks for posting and sharing - I see a few prints I haven't seen before that I may need to pick up!
ReplyDeletewell, im not on facebook, so here are my thoughts on the shop! I would love to see a category for OOP/hard to find fabrics...I love to have them grouped in one place personally. and i understand its a new shop, but i frequently shop a 'sale' section before anything else, so that category would be great too! i love to find cotton, organic, novelty all in one place! this looks like a really great shop!
ReplyDeleteOh goodness! Those seed stand fabrics are good enough to eat! So wonderful.
ReplyDeletethe Kona section is fantastic, I'm new to kona and found the set-up so helpful!
ReplyDeleteI did 'like' Fresh Modern Fabric on Facebook. It will be fun to see new fabrics although they are all out of my price range. Thank you for the opportunity to 'win' the fabric.
ReplyDeleteLiked FMF on FB! I am always looking for another great fabric shop. Thank you for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fabric, I 'liked' FMF on Facebook, would love a chance to win!
ReplyDeleteThanks for introducing this shop! Just bought four cuts (couldn't resist those teeny-tiny socks either!) and "liked" the shop on facebook! Of course would like to see even more variety, but I'm sure that will come with time. Love to support a fellow Ohioan!
ReplyDeleteI like Fat Quarter Bundle Quilter's Linen in Taupe, Lime, Azure and Grey, Robert Kaufman, 100% Cotton Fabric From FreshModernFabric
ReplyDeleteand Fat Quarter Bundle Spring Street, Carolyn Gavin for P&B Textiles. Thanks for the giveaway!
The fabrics are beautiful. This looks awesome to me.
ReplyDeleteCute shop... but there is a lot to go through for some people. The multiple views of the fabric is a fabulous touch. I do love the idea that there is other yardage pricing at the bottom of the listing though... just in case someone wants more than a fat quarter or half yard. thankfully freight isn't bad, but the last thing I needed to find was somewhere I could buy more fabric without ever leaving the house!
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of Fresh Modern Fabric and even have some word fabrics in my cart! I like the ruler fabric, too.
ReplyDeleteKellye
Love the fabrics - a good mix of fun and serious. And I always love the Kona solids. Nice!
ReplyDeleteI liked this shop in FB too.
I visited the FMF shop & was surprised to see the variety of fabrics her shop carries. I really love the laundry fabrics - thanks for a chance to win fabric from this great little shop. I've added her shop to my list of favorites.

What a cute shop! I am personally a HUGE fan of words on fabric (like those feedsack prints for example) so I don't mind those at all :)
ReplyDeletesweetbeebuzzingsATgmailDOTcom
Lovely fabric! She has great taste in fabric for sure. Love the laundry fat quarter bundle and it is great to see Word fabric too!
ReplyDeleteFantastic Shop Alice! I've been tempted by your Lizzy House bundles before, I love that you do different bundles than a lot of shops (like all pearl bracelets, not just colorways).
ReplyDeleteWell, I've already been to her shop today but it was just to browse--I'm a repeat customer! I had a great experience with FMF and Alice. She helped me pick out a backing fabric for my very first quilt and sent a genuinely nice, helpful handwritten note with my package. It was much appreciated by this newbie quilter! Thanks for this giveaway, Alice and Rachel.
ReplyDeleteI don't do Facebook but I do DO Etsy. I've "hearted" Fresh Modern Fabric on Etsy and have subscribed to the shop's feed.
ReplyDeleteThese fabrics would be a dream to win. I also would love to try the "grass quilter's tweed" and the various quilter's linens. They look for rich and earthy.
I liked Fresh Modern Fabric on F'book. If I stopped to look at ALL of the fabrics as long as I would like to....
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice to be able to see the scale of the prints. The little guitars are calling my name......
Such pretty fabrics! I do think it would be helpful if the designer cotton prints category was broken up into a few more specific categories - maybe by style or by designer? Not that I mind browsing through all that gorgeous fabric!
ReplyDeleteI visited both FB and the shop...I love how she has everything ordered and labeled. And such yummy fabrics! (Why do I equate fabric and eating???)
ReplyDeleteOh boy! I'm loving the Ghastlies, the seed catalogs, and the laundry lines! Fun fun fun fabrics! Yay!
ReplyDeleteLoving all the fabric but i'm a sucker for fabric with text.
ReplyDeleteFun! I "liked" her on Facebook. Thanks for the chance to win!

Well I've had a lovely time checking out the shop and LIKE WHAT I SEE! Your prices are competitive and the photographs are great. Loving this fabric, so thankyou for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI like her on Fb. and I think I'll need some of that sock fabric. oh and she's got some bird fabric too. Plus shipping to the UK isn't too expensive!
ReplyDeleteFavorited on etsy and liked on facebook. There isn't a fabric in your shop that I don't love. Really enjoy that your fabrics are diverse, modern, and just fun. Particularly in love with Annie's patchwork. Would love to see you add scrap bags as you accumulate them.
ReplyDeleteI liked her shop on FB. So happy to know about another Etsy shop that carries great fabrics. I love those text fabrics- been hoping to add some to my stash after seeing all of those lovely x and + blocks on Flickr with words in them. Thanks for the giveaway chance Rachel!

ReplyDeleteOk the facebook thing is done. I really don't know what advice I could give since I like the shop just the way it is. Great fabric choices.
ReplyDeleteI love the way the Kona solids are presented - makes it so much easier!
ReplyDeleteI like the organizational scheme, Alice! I've already seen three prints I've been wanting for a long time, plus PFD cotton. Lovely Etsy shop!
ReplyDeleteI'm a Facebook liker now. Can't wait to see updates!
ReplyDeleteLOVE it! Shops like this are why visiting Etsy takes a whole day. And a very joyful day, at that!
ReplyDeleteWow! Nice Variety of fabric!
ReplyDeleteMy particular favorite has to be Hollie Holderman for Lakehouse Dry Goods.
It matches the decor in my kitchen and to me this is absolutely wonderful! :) It will go perfectly with my seed packet pictures on the wall ;)
Thank you!
I missed the Lizzy's duck pattern...I'm heading over now to try to grab some. Hope there is still inventory!
ReplyDeleteI love these farm stand fabrics - I received my order of three half yards of the seed catalog print an hour ago, including white on white which I am going to try to age with a tea stain. Never done that before...
ReplyDeleteOh you are right she has great taste. I saw at least one fabric on every row I loved. And I am loving words fabrics, thanks for sharing some with one of us.
ReplyDelete-annabelle :)
This is great. I don't have any fabric with words. I think it will be great when I branch out from quilts to bags!
ReplyDeleteI liked them on facebook and am surprised to see they are from Bluffton, Ohio! I know people who went to school there, I went to Bowling Green - just a bit north. Small world... great shop and LOVE this fabric!
ReplyDeleteI really like her shop so it is hard to comment. I personally like to see a what's new section. Thanks for the giveaway....I really want those prints!!

ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteOh I can't wait until I can get my hands on some 'half yard of seed' fabric. geeze... it's so cute. I also want the tape measure fabric because I love to sew.
ReplyDeleteI work in the newsroom at our local newspaper and the 'word' fabric would be perfect for some tote bags for the female reporters.
How fun and what great fabric Alice has got for us.
Thanks for sharing it with us.
Debbie
I'm so completely smitten with the negative of the seed catalogue prints. But what do I do with it?!?!!? Who cares, it has a spot on my fabric shelf just waiting for it. Excellent job showcasing your fabrics!
ReplyDeleteI just bought that very fat qtr. pack from Fresh Modern Fabrics this morning! I'd love to win and have a 1/2 yard of each. I loved the shop, lots of organics at good prices and I'm excited to see Pick a Bunch in blue. I think it's always good to have fat qtr. bundles available.
ReplyDeleteWow those fabrics are amazing, I have never seen them before. I am happy to go over and like her on Facebook.
ReplyDeleteI just checked out the shop - it has a most awesome selection of fabrics, so much so, I hearted the store!

ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway, Alice and Rachel!
I visited Alice's shop on Etsy and I love the fat quarter bundle of quilter's linen by Robert Kaufman. I love that texture! Great shop Alice!
ReplyDeleteFirst, I just found word fabric and I love it.
ReplyDeleteSecond, I love that laundry line fabric on Alice's site.
Third, I love the way she shows off the Kona solids. Very helpful when purchasing.
Oh my gosh that fabric is just awesome. I really liked Annie's Farm Stand the minute I saw it.
ReplyDeleteThe color Cerise is really growing on me too. I just LOVE all of your blocks in the Summer Sampler Quilt and the way the Cerise goes with the black and others you've used.
I have just liked Fresh Modern fabric on Facebook. Thank you so much for the chance to win.
I "like" her on Facebook! Fact of the matter is, how could you NOT like someone who assembles word fabrics for quilters? Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI opened the door to Alice's Fresh Modern Fabric Store and I almost wept. I got so excited that I had to call my bff and tell her to get on her and look with me. We spent over an hour on the phone ooohing and awing over all the fabric. The general consensus at the end of our conversation and telephone shopping spree was that we don't love any of the fabric, WE LOVE IT ALL! Tomorrow I will be on a begging mission to hubby asking for $$$ I have to shop before she runs out of anything. Alice, you are now my favorite Etsy and Fabric Shop.
ReplyDeleteWow. What a drool-worthy shop. I sooo wish I had some extra cash to spend right now! I love, love, love all of the Heather Ross fabrics she has in stock!
ReplyDeletewow I love your site and all of this fabric! someone posted a link to this on the quilting board and I am so glad they did.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI just love all the colours. They are so lushious and cheerful! I especially like the way the Konas are desplayed. My favs are the GooGoo babies and socks! I do charity quilts for preemies and sick kids and I love to include some nice fabric there!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the offer.
Wow, I love Fresh Modern Fabrics! Such great fabrics, contemporary & diverse but as a whole they seem to be really well thought out - a great range of solids, designer, patterns & bundles. And they have so many of my all time fave fabrics & now some of my new fave fabrics too!
ReplyDeleteI love this fabric! In one of the houses we rented when my family lived in Alaska, the one (and only) bathroom in the house had wallpaper that looked like this! I find I really prefer the fabric over the wallpaper! LOL!
ReplyDeleteAlice, I love finding a new fabric shop and it is obvious you have great taste in textiles! As an avid fabric buyer the one thing I'd love to see are custom bundles put together by the shop - I am always hunting for that in online fabric shops and I only know a handful that sell them. Since I can't do the mixing of designers in person I like buying a pre-arranged mixed bundle by someone who has a great eye for fabric! If you can add this to your shop I'll be a customer for life!!!
ReplyDeletewhat a great shop! looks like a wide selection for every budget - you can tell a ton of thought went into this shop.
ReplyDeletebess :)
i liked FMF on fb
ReplyDeleteWhat a wide variety of great fabrics - I adore the books by davids textiles. Too many great prints to list! thanks for the lovely giveaway!
ReplyDeleteLovely new shop. My favourite (oh, it's sooo hard!) is "Books, brown and multicolored, Grand Tour, Victoria and Albert Museum Collection for David Textiles". A combination of my two great loves - fabric and books. Love, love, love!
ReplyDeleteThank for the chance! I like Quilter's Linen of Robert Kaufman!
ReplyDeletemattiacdo@yahoo.it

All the fabrics look gorgeous and for sure looks fresh and modern like its name!!
ReplyDeleteHer fabrics are very lovely, Love them all:)
ReplyDeleteI'm envisioning a quilt...
ReplyDeletebeautiful fabrics. nice shop. thanks.
You are the perfect person for fresh modern to sponsor!
ReplyDeleteI have loved word prints since before they became so "mainstream" so please do put my name in the hat!
ReplyDeleteThe etsy shop looks great, and I love the selection. One suggestion I have is to add categories for specific designers. I think you can leave the categories you have now so that some fabric would be in two categories. I think this would help your fabric come up in searches, though.
ReplyDeleteCount me in for the giveaway! I am a local produce-addict, so this fabric would be perfect.
Love the word fabric! I always enjoy your blog. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteLove her etsy store! Just bought a ton of fabric!
ReplyDeleteJust because my fabric stash is overflowing doesn't mean I wouldn't love, love, love to add some of these fabulous fabrics to it.
ReplyDeleteIt's too hard to choose-I loved everything! Thanks for the great giveaway!

ReplyDeleteWhat a great shop! I see so many things I "need" right this second including that fun book fabric. I also like the way that this is organized.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win such great fabrics.

ReplyDeleteWow- what a great giveaway! I actually dreamt about Cerise the other night. (Do other sewers/quilters dream about making stuff too?)
ReplyDeleteThanks Rachel & Fresh Modern Fabric!
I have fallen in love with fabric that has writing, so this Seed Catalog fabric is right up my alley. I just love all that writing...what's up with that???
ReplyDeleteA wonderful giveaway...I went to her shop, and found it hard to move off the first page - the Far, Far Away fabrics just captured me! LOL
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win!
Thanks for posting another great fabric store
ReplyDeleteLove the Quilter's twee, the way you put the solids names in big bold letter and the View Finder/Transister Radio Bundle as well as the seed catalog print. I've added you as a favoite to my Google bar.
ReplyDeleteWow -- what a great collection of fabric to browse through...a bunch of black and white stuff I don't have (but now might just need) and the Victoria and Albert Museum collection is awesome!
ReplyDeleteI love the Organic cotton prints like moss in ocean! There's so many designs to choose from! WOW! ♥
ReplyDeleteHer shop is really well organised - so easy to find what you want. I'm loving those little guitars and any fabric with words on! :)
ReplyDeleteFresh Modern Fabric has a wonderful selection and awesome giveaway! It would be great to have some other designers pulled out into separate categories for quick purchasing.
ReplyDeleteYour selection looks great! This giveaway is so unique, I would love to win!
ReplyDeleteknspears (at) gmail (dot) com
I checked out Alice's shop and liked her on facebook. Can't believe she's in Bluffton! I live in the next town, Pandora!! It's frustrating visiting fabric shops in our area b/c they don't carry very much fun, modern fabric. :( Nice selection!
ReplyDeleteI liked her on facebook and checked out the shop. I never have enough Kona! Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI visited Alice's site and love the types of fabrics she has. Really nice novelty prints and a lot of ones I haven't seen before, will definitely keep an eye on her wonderful fabrics.
ReplyDeleteDebbie
Love the RED!!
ReplyDeleteLove the lay out of the site and every fabric looks fresh and modern. Is this a new trend to list by the 1/2 yard instead of full yard price? Just asking... cause I would like to know. Wonderful giveaway and opportunity to win some nice fabric. Thanks from Judy C in NC
ReplyDeleteLove that farm stand fabric. And such fair prices too! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't find anything I didn't like in her shop! I would especially love a 24 half yard bundle of 1001 Peeps - mmmmmmmmm!
ReplyDeletethanks for a great giveaway
I really like all the different princess fabrics. So cute! Just for all you fabric shops out there- I LOVE bird fabric. I don't know why. I just love fabric with birds! :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that seed catalogue fabric. Thanks for the giveaway! I went to the shop and love the Laundry line and the Castle Peeps line. Great shop!
ReplyDeleteI love all the fabrics.Red is my choose. Thanks
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful fabric this shop has. As a suggestion (meant with all kindness) I would have liked if similar fabrics (by color or by print or etc) had been grouped together. Might also increase sales. Wonderful fabrics though! VermontPines@aol.com
ReplyDeleteGreat fabric shop. I'm so glad you have these lakehouse dry goods prints. I hope I can win some because I'm on a fabric diet.
ReplyDeleteGreat selection in the shop. I love that the photos for the Kona have the color name right on them so I can see what they are at a glance. Makes it easy to find the color I'm looking for.
ReplyDeleteGreat fabrics!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for organizing it!!
Annie, your shop was easy to navigate and offered a great variety. There were several prints that I haven't seen and some I've seen everywhere. The style is modern retro and bursts the imagination.
ReplyDeleteWow, fantastic selection of lovely fabrics. I need to shop here!
ReplyDeleteLots of choices, lots of variety. I like all the word fabrics. The castle fabric caught my eye. I'll be back.
ReplyDeletei spent entirely too much time drooling over fabric in her store. and i liked the shop on facebook.
ReplyDeleteI liked Fresh Modern Fabrics on Facebook
ReplyDeleteAwesome, word fabrics! Let's see, feedback...
ReplyDeleteI like a lot of the exciting, larger scale prints but I'd be interested in seeing more dark, saturated colors. Not a huge fan of pastels except as accents, though I guess flamboyant prints can be kept from looking too overwhelming by using them.
Such a lovely selection of fabrics!
ReplyDeleteI lovve a good place to buy fabric! she certainly does have good taste!
ReplyDeleteI like her on fb.
I'm glad to see she carries the imported little print types of fabric. I see them online in blogs and just drool to own some of my very own!
ReplyDeleteI like any fabric that has a gardening theme. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteThanks for finding another great fabric store for me!!
ReplyDeleteI liked Fresh Modern Fabric on Facebbok and wish someone would come out with a giant word fabric bundle!
ReplyDelete
