One lovely afternoon we surfed Flickr together to find inspiration. You see, my mom is a lady who loves curves - ovals, circles, swirls. I tend to gravitate towards angles - diamonds, squares, rectangles, wonky lines. She loves my style, but not for her house, ya know? So, we needed somewhere for my brain to start.

I think these four beauties are a fabulous start. You can see that she favors the dresden plate look (which incidentally, I have no feelings for and would never have dreamed up myself). I believe that a rectangle pillow will be my next small project. Only problem is there are 2 quilts standing in the way right now, and one is a doozie. More on that later.

Perhaps you are cooking up your own pillow dreams for Blogger's Pillow Party this February? Rita announced the prize - it's a sweet set of Delilah by Tanya Whelan donated by Fresh Squeezed Fabrics. Since February is a short month, you only have until the 24th to make your entry.
Do you have a pillow in the works?

The round one is AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteI have one I'm mulling over in my brain but even if I found the time to bang it out at this point, I won't be ready for Feb. Which is a bummer really because that Tanya Whelan fabric is A-mazing!
ReplyDeleteWhat about combining round and angles?? That should look interesting!!
ReplyDeleteI just finished two pillows - and was so pleased with how quick and fun they were. I'm thinking I might try an applique pillow.
